1. Guided Fishing Reservations – One-Day Trip

1.1 Payment

One-day guided fishing trips are payable 100% at the time of booking. The reservation is confirmed only once full payment has been received.

1.2 Cancellation

Fishing and hunting reservations are non-refundable and non-cancellable. No cancellation by the client entitles them to a refund, credit or postponement, unless otherwise decided in writing by the outfitter.

1.3 Fishing Postponement Due to Dangerous Weather

A trip may be postponed when the outfitter or guide determines that weather conditions make the activity unsafe, including in the event of:

  • sustained winds exceeding 30 km/h;
  • severe thunderstorms;
  • lightning;
  • conditions that put participant safety at risk.

The trip will be rescheduled according to the outfitter's availability. The final decision to proceed, delay or postpone a trip rests exclusively with the outfitter or the guide in charge.

1.4 Equipment Provided

Clients do not need to bring fishing equipment. All necessary equipment is provided, including:

  • the boat;
  • required safety equipment;
  • fishing rods and reels;
  • lures;
  • bait, when required;
  • specialized equipment used by the guide.

All equipment belonging to the outfitter must be used with care. The outfitter reserves the right to charge for any damage caused by misuse, negligence or irresponsible behaviour.

1.5 Mandatory Fishing Licence

Anyone wishing to fish must have a valid Quebec fishing licence. It is the client's responsibility to obtain the licence before departure. Anyone without a valid licence will not be permitted to fish, and no refund will be provided.

1.6 Protective Eyewear

The outfitter strongly recommends wearing protective eyewear at all times while in the boat in order to reduce the risk of injury from hooks, lures or other fishing equipment.

1.7 Departure Time and Late Arrivals

The departure time is fixed. Clients must arrive at the agreed meeting location on time. In the event of a late arrival, the trip will still end at the originally scheduled time. Any delay of more than 60 minutes will result in the automatic cancellation of the trip, with no refund.

1.8 Compliance with Fishing Regulations

Each client must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including:

  • catch limits;
  • minimum and maximum size limits;
  • fishing seasons;
  • permitted species;
  • rules specific to the body of water being fished.

The guide may immediately terminate a trip if a client refuses to comply with applicable regulations. No refund will be provided in the event of removal from the activity or termination of the trip due to failure to comply with laws, regulations or the guide's instructions.

1.9 Catch and Release

The outfitter strongly recommends releasing all salmonids that are not seriously injured in order to promote resource conservation and maintain fishing quality over the long term.

2. Hunting Reservations

2.1 Payment

Hunting stays are payable in two instalments:

  • 50% at the time of booking;
  • 50% no later than 75 days before the arrival date.

The reservation is confirmed only once the first payment has been received.

2.2 Late or Missed Payment

The second payment must be made no later than 75 days before arrival. A maximum grace period is granted until 45 days before arrival.

If the second payment has not been received by 45 days before arrival:

  • the reservation is cancelled;
  • the first payment is retained by the outfitter;
  • the dates may be assigned to another hunter or group;
  • no refund will be provided.

2.3 Cancellation

Payments made for a hunting stay are non-refundable. No refund will be provided in the event of cancellation by the client, absence, late arrival or no-show. A reservation transfer may be accepted only with the outfitter's written authorization.

2.4 Companion

A hunter may bring a companion. However, the outfitter cannot guarantee that a hunting blind suitable for two people will be available. The companion must comply with the same safety, silence, movement and behaviour requirements as the hunter.

2.5 Vehicles Prohibited in Fields

No ATV, truck or other motorized vehicle is permitted in fields or on hunting grounds unless expressly authorized by the outfitter.

A guide is assigned to retrieve the game and bring it to the hunter's vehicle in order to protect fields, agricultural land and access routes. Any hunter operating an unauthorized vehicle may be immediately removed from the property without a refund.

2.6 Territory and Hunting Sector Organization

Each property is divided into sectors containing several hunting blinds. Hunting blinds are provided by the outfitter. Game is fed in advance to encourage movement toward the hunting sectors.

The outfitter aims to limit the number of hunters on the same property in order to prevent hunters who are not part of the same group from seeing one another. Despite this management approach, it remains possible to encounter other hunters on the same property.

2.7 Hunting Blind Assignment

Hunting blinds may vary depending on the sector and availability:

  • single elevated blind;
  • double elevated blind;
  • tent;
  • ground blind;
  • other installation adapted to the sector.

The hunting blind is assigned by the outfitter based on hunting conditions, wind direction, game observations and the organization of the property. Clients may not require a specific hunting blind unless a prior written agreement has been made.

3. Mandatory Licences, Firearms and Inspections

3.1 Guide Inspection

The guide responsible for the sector may require an inspection before the hunt of:

  • the firearm or crossbow;
  • the firearms licence, when required;
  • the hunting licence;
  • the licence corresponding to the game being hunted;
  • compliance with the applicable hunting season.

3.2 Mandatory Documents

Each hunter must have all valid licences and permits required to hunt legally. Any hunter unable to provide the required documents must leave the hunting property without a refund.

3.3 Shooting Practice and Safety

The outfitter may require an inspection or shooting practice session before the hunt begins. Any behaviour deemed dangerous by the guide or outfitter may result in the hunter's immediate removal from the property without a refund.

4. Wounded Game, Tracking and Recovery

4.1 Non-Fatal Shot

If an animal is hit but cannot be immediately recovered, the hunter must fully cooperate with the search. When deemed necessary by the outfitter, the use of a tracking dog is mandatory.

4.2 Tracking Dog Fees

  • $250 + tax for the tracking dog's intervention;
  • $50 + tax per hour for guide supervision.

4.3 Game Recovery

The outfitter will bring the game to the hunter's vehicle, according to the terms of the selected package. No personal vehicle is permitted in fields to recover an animal unless expressly authorized by the outfitter.

5. Self-Guided Hunter

5.1 Hunter's Responsibilities

A self-guided hunter is responsible for:

  • their hunt;
  • compliance with instructions;
  • compliance with applicable regulations;
  • field dressing their animal.

The outfitter will transport the game to the hunter's vehicle.

5.2 Optional Field Dressing and Butchering Service

An optional service is available for:

  • field dressing;
  • transporting the animal to the butcher;
  • butchering by the butcher.

Service cost: $275 + tax. The hunter is responsible for picking up their meat once it is ready.

6. Hunter with Private Guide

6.1 Dedicated Guide

For a package including a private guide, a guide is dedicated 100% to one hunter for the scheduled hunting period.

6.2 Included Services

  • accompanying the hunter;
  • hunting advice;
  • game recovery;
  • field dressing;
  • transportation of the animal to the butcher.

6.3 Butchering Fees

Butchering is not included. Fees generally range from $150 to $250, depending on the size of the game and the butcher's rates.

7. Guide Shared Among Multiple Hunters

7.1 How It Works

The guide provides advice before the hunt and divides their time among the hunters. For example, the guide may accompany one hunter in the morning and another in the afternoon.

7.2 Included Services

The shared guide may field-dress and transport one animal.

7.3 Additional Game

Any additional game is the responsibility of the hunters. A fee of $250 + tax per animal applies to each additional animal.

8. Behavior, safety and expulsion

The outfitter reserves the right to immediately expel, without refund, any person who:

  • does not follow the guide's instructions;
  • does not respect laws and regulations;
  • engages in dangerous behavior;
  • handles a weapon in an unsafe manner;
  • travels through fields with an unauthorized vehicle;
  • willfully disturbs other hunters;
  • hinders the proper conduct of the activity;
  • shows up without a valid license;
  • refuses to cooperate with the outfitter.

The safety of participants, guides, landowners and the public remains the priority at all times.

9. Client responsibility

The client acknowledges that hunting and fishing activities involve certain risks, including:

  • injuries;
  • changing weather conditions;
  • traveling on natural terrain;
  • use of weapons;
  • use of hooks and lures;
  • traveling by boat;
  • presence of wild animals;
  • risks related to bodies of water.

The client agrees to participate in the activities at their own risk and agrees to follow all instructions given by the outfitter.

10. Final decision of the outfitter

The outfitter retains the right to modify:

  • the departure time;
  • the hunting or fishing location;
  • the assigned blind;
  • the sector;
  • the guide;
  • the conduct of the activity.

These modifications may be made for reasons of safety, weather, regulation, logistics or quality of the experience.

11. Booking policy – Fishing training

11.1 Payment

Registration fees for fishing training are payable in full at the time of booking. The booking is confirmed only when full payment has been received.

11.2 Refund

Registration fees are non-refundable. No refund, credit or transfer of training will be granted at the participant's request, except in the cases provided for in this policy.

11.3 Postponement of a training session

A training day may be postponed only when weather conditions do not allow the activity to be held safely, particularly in case of:

  • sustained winds of 30 km/h or more;
  • high probability of severe thunderstorms;
  • any other condition deemed dangerous by the instructor or the outfitter.

In these situations, the session is automatically postponed to the same day of the following week, at the same time, subject to favorable weather conditions. The decision belongs exclusively to Pourvoirie 3 Ours.

11.4 Participant absence

Any absence is considered a completed session. No refund, credit, makeup session or postponement will be granted, regardless of the reason, including:

  • illness;
  • professional obligations;
  • schedule conflict;
  • lateness;
  • forgetting the date;
  • any other personal reason.

11.5 Lateness

Training sessions begin and end at the scheduled time. Any delay reduces the available training time. A delay of more than 60 minutes may be considered an absence.

11.6 Cancellation by the outfitter

If Pourvoirie 3 Ours must cancel a session for a reason other than weather conditions, a new date will be proposed. If no reasonable postponement is possible, a full refund for the cancelled session will be issued.

11.7 Participation and safety

Each participant agrees to follow the instructor's instructions. The outfitter strongly recommends wearing protective glasses or sunglasses during practical exercises. It may exclude, without refund, any participant whose behavior compromises the safety or proper conduct of the training.

12. Dog policy

Pourvoirie 3 Ours accepts up to two dogs for fishing stays only. Dogs are prohibited for all hunting stays.

13. Force majeure

Pourvoirie 3 Ours cannot be held responsible for the cancellation, postponement, modification or interruption of a stay, a guided trip, a training session or any other activity when this situation results from a case of force majeure or an event beyond its control.

Without being limited to, cases of force majeure include in particular:

  • exceptional or dangerous weather conditions;
  • severe thunderstorms, extreme winds, floods or forest fires;
  • natural disasters;
  • road or territory access closures;
  • orders or restrictions from a public authority;
  • pandemics, epidemics or health emergencies;
  • strikes or labor disputes;
  • major electrical, telecommunications or supply failures;
  • a fire or disaster;
  • a major accident affecting facilities or equipment;
  • any other unforeseeable situation making the activity impossible or dangerous.

When the situation allows, the outfitter will prioritize rescheduling the activity according to its availability. If no postponement is reasonably possible, its liability is limited to the refund of the sums received for the activity that could not be carried out, without any other compensation or reimbursement of incidental expenses.

14. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws in force in the province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply to it.

Any dispute relating to its interpretation or application will be submitted to the competent courts of the judicial district where the head office of Pourvoirie 3 Ours is located, unless otherwise provided by law.

15. Policy modification

Pourvoirie 3 Ours reserves the right to modify this policy at any time, without notice. Any booking is subject to the version of the policy in effect at the time the booking is confirmed.

16. Acceptance of terms

By making a booking, a payment or by participating in an activity offered by Pourvoirie 3 Ours, the client acknowledges having read, understood and accepted this policy as well as all the conditions provided therein.
